Celines...These shoes 'look' easy to walk in but I'm a boy so I dunno? These platforms glistening in the sun was a beautiful sight so I had to take an image, Alexa Chung wore these shoes later on with J.W Anderson Paisley Trousers - I've went to the silk printing factory where Mr Anderson gets his silk from so I will be writing A post about the visit soon :)
After 6 hours of deep sleep, I had to break out from my comfortable cotton cocoon to get scrubbed up and polished for an early start to day 2 of LFW. 9am sharp for the Daks show. I am a sucker for the iconic british label famous for bespoke tailoring in the 19th century, tapered trousers in the 1930s and today country/modern chic that many want to portray- The durable yet tasteful fabrics, netural colour palette and the cut of the coats which make me swoon. Even Giles Deacon had a swirl designing for the brand in 2006, however that match made in heaven didn't last very long (3 season!)
Don't despair! The current designer Sheila McKain-Waid is an aboslute joyful choice for the brand; Names like Halston, Donna Karen and Oscar De la Renta are all scribbled on her CV so I'm quite certain that Daks is in safe hands (as soft as you can get :D)
This season Sheila has brought to the table woven detailing on puffy puffer-fish styled coats, iconic signature check quilted to amplify what the british heritage brand is all about as-well-as a sense of japanese edge (considering that biggest market is in the far-east) volumed silhouettes underscores this beauty of what Daks is. Lustrous knee high patent boots were also paired adding sex-appeal to the conservative looks offering a mix of investment pieces for the loyal older customer and edgyness for the hip youngsters.
Simplicity was a main feature - small characteristics such as Issey Miyake's pleating and ribbing gave a coaxed definition of ladylike elegance to a shapeless piece. Burn-out aztec-like velvet popped out of nowhere but casted a regal grunge to the collection.
Half way through the show, the clothes morphed into very modern desirable on-trend pieces. I'm sure Daks will be selling like hot cakes in next season; No wonder Daks has three royal warrants! Crimson Red is the new orange for certified by the last looks.
I was lucky enough to witness a few celebrities at the Vivienne Westwood show, Sadie Frost was pretty much following Pearl and I around London looking for a taxi! However I was able to see Leigh Lezark in-person - IN REAL LIFE! She was stunning though, I feel bad for her as the bouncers were VERRRRY slow leading to her to stand outside for quite a while ending up her having a quick cigarette break. I took a quick cheeky snap as I was behind her, She did noticed me doing it and I was instantly frightened she will give me a death stare - But she didn't and actually gave a smile :) (phew) So that was pleasant to know that one Chanel ambassador is nice aha!
The cigarette compliments the Mulberry from my opinion...
I decided that my first Offical post will be the intro page from my out-of-date scrapbook. The Burberry booties, 3.1 Phillip Lim invite, Acne X Lanvin collaboration menswear look and a sketch of the Prada show; Remember the thigh-high leather waders? If you do then you probably guessed that I did this in A/W 2009.
I hope that this has inspired to you look back at the fashion & trends around the dinosaur times (Just kidding I mean 3 years ago)
